Vehaan Pilot is an IB student with interests in history, public policy, sustainable development, and citizen-led approaches to preserving memory. His academic and extracurricular work explores how personal narratives, oral histories, and lived experiences can deepen our understanding of society, identity, and historical change.
After completing oral history training with The 1947 Partition Archive, Vehaan became interested in documenting stories that often remain outside formal historical records. This interest led him to found Echoes Across the Valley, an initiative that explores Kashmiri identity, migration, and intergenerational memory through family heirlooms, personal narratives, and material culture..Â
Vehaan has also pursued opportunities in public policy, diplomacy, and communication. Through Echoes Across the Valley, Vehaan hopes to preserve personal histories, encourage intergenerational dialogue, and contribute to a richer understanding of Kashmir's lived experiences through memory, storytelling, and material culture.
